{"id":144,"date":"2025-12-13T10:18:03","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T06:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asgarzade.sitedar.com\/yascont\/en\/?p=144"},"modified":"2025-12-24T09:09:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T05:39:54","slug":"syria-iran-iraq-mull-linking-railway-network-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yascont.com\/en\/2025\/12\/13\/syria-iran-iraq-mull-linking-railway-network-reports\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria, Iran, Iraq mull linking railway network :reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"item-summary\">\n<p class=\"summary introtext\">Syria, Iran and Iraq plan to hold a trilateral meeting on the connection of their railway systems into one, media reported citing a source in the Syrian Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"item-body\">\n<div class=\"item-text\">\n<p>\u201cNow, the countries are working on\u00a0the resumption of\u00a0the project connecting the railways of\u00a0Syria, Iran and Iraq and are determining the date of\u00a0the meeting between\u00a0the representatives of\u00a0the countries to\u00a0develop the points of\u00a0view\u201d, a source told the al-Watan newspaper on\u00a0Saturday, Sputnik reported.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of\u00a0the strategic project, which was launched before\u00a0the outbreak of\u00a0the Syrian crisis in\u00a02011, is to\u00a0provide Baghdad and Tehran with\u00a0access to\u00a0Syrian ports, according to\u00a0the source.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to\u00a0the crisis, the Syrian side has completed 97 percent of\u00a0the project, however, during\u00a0the war, most railways have been destroyed, according to\u00a0the source.<\/p>\n<p>Syria has been in\u00a0a state of\u00a0civil war since\u00a02011, with\u00a0government forces fighting against\u00a0numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations.
